Designing control panel for Xerox machine
Aim: To design, build and test digital UI of a photocopier machine.
Duration: 3 weeks (Fall 2006 | IITG, India)
Collaborators: Aditya Saxena
Methods Used: Literature Survey, Persona Creation, Scenario Analysis, Task Analysis, Wireframe, Low Fidelity Prototyping.
Project Description: We developed an interface with the following constraints:
- The user must be able to set the number of copies.
- The user should be able to select any combination of single / double sided, collated / non-collated, stapled / non-stapled.
- The user must be able to adjust the size of the paper to account for all "normal" paper sizes. (8.5" x 11" & 11" x 17")
- The user must be able to adjust the size of the copies, from 50% of the original size to 200% of the original size.
- The copier has a touch-screen, black and white LCD screen, with a working resolution of 72 DPI.
- The copier has no physical buttons.

Deliverables: Our final deliverable was a working simulation of the prototype along with complete documentation including details of user testing also. This working simulation illustrates with examples all the tasks that a user can perform using our interface on the photocopy machine.
